i am ready to be home.
calif is nice to visit but i'm very pleased with myself that i left for tn when i did.
the lake resort is not what it used to be but than it ceased being that two years before i opened up a map, closed my eyes and let my fingers find our next "home". lake wohlford is still a beautiful resort - although the lake is half the level it was when i left and the flat land at the bottom of the mountain [where the boys used to dirt bike] is now a church/school and huge parking lot.
get this - there is even a "dog park" [white plastic bags line the wire fence. odd visual.] attached to the new humane society next to the aqua duct.
new houses are still going up around the perimeter of escondido. sadly, most of the old shops i used to frequent are now advertising in spanish and the vietnamese restaurant is no longer there next to the laundry mat. that disturbed me the most i believe.
my love of asian food overcomes me sometimes. mike and i went to a new sushi bar he frequents and our meal ran over 50 bucks. senseless.
food was good, but not that good.
bob let me know he is very angry with me for just giving the trailer to renee'. hmm - wonder if i should care, i do and i don't.
the flower garden little fingers and i planted years ago is beautiful, renee' has taken good care of it. the apricot tree where jacob's afterbirth was laid to rest under a mass of blossoms and promise of things to come had been taken down to make room for a new trailer. don't believe i'll tell jacob that though. he has always considered that tree his "special tree". after all he helped it grow.
my friends are still in that party stuff most days, so i'm ready to head out. sad when you out grow your oldest friends.
jordan to the phish concert in Cincinnati, OH the 21st. anxious to hear how it went but will have to wait until i get home.
Tuesday
happy birthday
[mom is the cutie holding the doll. aunt sue is in pink]
how old is she? i have no clue. her age is not something we ever discussed.
aren't they just cuties?
Saturday
this girl
is homesick
grrr. my bed. how i love my bed - i'm thinking about this as i move the cushions around getting ready to sleep on this couch that has no were near the comfort of my wonderful bed which is smothered [get this] under 8 [yes - really] feather pillows, 2 heavy quilts, mamacat laying on my feet and the three books i lost in the covers.
the couch is small.

take off
left tennessee wednesday 5th around 4p and arrived in colorado thursday about 9p.
stayed two wonderful nights at j's in aurora then off to scott's in colorado springs whom i had never met but is a friend of jordan and crystal's.
he was a gracious host and interesting guy.
from tennessee to colorado it snowed the entire drive [boy am i glad to of gotten the heater working before i left] but the interstates were kept clear. saw a sign saying "Don't get Plowed" and pondered who would be "dumb enough to leave their car on the side of the road" or "what plow driver" would even consider hitting a car parked off the side of the interstate. suddenly - i come upon a plow driving 60 miles an hour with his blade barely off the surface of the shoulder. the plume of dirty snow he threw out was impressive. i learned the meaning of "Don't get Plowed".
slept for 5 hours in a missouri rest stop. pulled in around midnight and took me awhile to settle down and get to sleep.
around 6a there is a pounding on my car window.
some guy asking if i had cable - in very broken english. i glance at his van and see two more guys sitting there. i looked at him bewildered and drive off. as if i'm going to open my door to this. other than that the drive was uneventful.
